The Story Behind Our Santorini Collection

There's a particular shade of blue you only find in one place in the world — caught between the white-washed walls of a cliffside village and the Aegean Sea stretching out below it. If you've ever stood in Santorini at golden hour, you know the color I mean. It's the blue that started this whole collection.

Where It Began

This collection didn't start on a design mood board. It started on a trip.

A group of us — some old friends, a few people we'd only just met — spent a week on the island, and somewhere between the long lunches, the wine that never seemed to run out, and the conversations that went late into the night, I realized I was collecting more than memories. I was collecting moments: the way light hit a table set for eight, the terracotta and blue tile underfoot, the simple joy of passing a dish of something delicious to someone who, a few days earlier, had been a total stranger.

That's the feeling I wanted to bring home. Not just the colors of Santorini, but the warmth of it — the sense that a table is where people actually become friends.

What the Designs Capture

Each design in this collection traces back to something specific from that trip:

  • The whitewashed and blue palette mirrors the villages themselves — clean, calming, timeless.
  • Sun-warmed terracotta accents nod to the pottery and rooftops that seem to glow at sunset.
  • Organic, hand-drawn linework echoes the imperfect, lived-in beauty of a place shaped by wind, sea, and generations of hands.

I wanted anyone who wears one of these shirts to carry a little bit of that island magic with them — the ease of a long, unhurried meal, the comfort of good company, and the quiet luxury of not being anywhere else.

Why It Matters to Gather & Vine

At its heart, Gather & Vine has always been about what happens around the table, not just what's on it. This collection is a reminder that some of our best memories are made with people we didn't know a week before, over food we made together, in a place we may never get back to exactly the same way again.

Bring a Little Santorini Home

I hope wearing one of these designs helps you carry your own version of those late nights on the island — good food, good wine, and the kind of company that turns strangers into friends.
